Easy exchange of the MR-J3 series for the MR-J4

Identical size

The MR-J4 and MR-J3 series have the same dimensions. The motors of both series use the same cables and have the same flange dimensions.

SSCNET III compatibility mode

The servo amplifiers MR-J4-B / MR-J4W2-B / MR-J4W3-B have the MR-J3 compatibility mode. This mode allows both series to be operated in the same network without having to make any changes to the existing controller. A major advantage here is that the MR-J4 also automatically switches to MR-J3 mode if necessary.

Automatic parameter conversion

With the MR-J4B series, the parameters are automatically written via the controller. The MR-J4A series is customised using a parameter converter in the MELSOFT MR Configurator 2 software.

Easy replacement of the MR-J2 Super Series with the MR-J4 Series

The MR-J2 Super Series will be replaced by the MR-J4 Series as shown in the graphic on the left.

Automatic parameter conversion

With the MR-J4B series, the parameters are automatically written via the controller. The MR-J4A series is customised using a parameter converter in the MELSOFT MR Configurator 2 software.

Connecting the MR-J4 series to older SSCNET controllers

The SSCNET controller can be retained. Only the MR-J4-B-RJ020 and MR-J4-T20 conversion modules replace the MR-J2S-B. The MR-J4-B-RJ020 automatically enters the MR-J2 super compatibility mode. This means that no parameters such as encoder resolutions need to be adjusted.

Use of existing cabling

Existing cabling for the old HC/HA motors can be retained, as there are renewal tools for the MR-J4 series.

Everything you need to know about replacement, conversion, renewal and retrofitting

For your information: Production of the MR-J2S series was discontinued in August 2015 and that of the MR-J3 / J3W series in May 2019.
